The Sofitel Marseille Vieux Port, a hotel committed to its region
In 2022, the Sofitel Marseille Vieux Port was awarded the Clef Verte label, the first international sustainable tourism label for tourist accommodation.
Faced with the effects of climate change and the current energy crisis, finding concrete, pragmatic solutions is a priority. The Sofitel Marseille Vieux Port is working alongside Accor to promote sustainable hospitality while reducing our environmental impact, thus leaving a positive mark on the city.
Fight against food waste: Our Chef adjusts his orders as closely as possible to the activity. This flexibility is made possible by the proximity of our partners. On the M&E side, buffets have been eliminated, and our teams can prepare anti-waste lunches or dinners on request.
Waste recovery: on site, 15 streams are sorted versus 7 mandatory streams: cooking oil recycling, electronic equipment, light bulbs, batteries, cartridges and toners, bio-waste and recovery, wood, metal, stretch film, PE and PET plastic, cardboard, glass and ceramics, office paper, coffee capsules, paint pots. Food waste from our kitchens is sorted for collection by Les Alchimistes, which turns it into compost.
Reduction of our carbon footprint through the selection of service providers within -100km and delivery methods (electric bikes, electric cargo.)
Elimination of single-use plastic throughout the site: single-use plastic has been completely eliminated (plastic bottles, plastic bags, etc.)
Supervision & monitoring of overall consumption throughout the year.
Support for local artisans within our establishment: sale of window creations, VIP guest services, decoration of the establishment.
Helping people into work and back into society by training them in various hotel trades thanks to several associations:
And so much more!
